The Mountain Says He'd Beat the Hound in a Fight
The Clegane brothers have a pretty terrible history on Game of Thrones to say the least. In case you forget Sir Gregor, who is known as The Mountain, pushed his younger brother The Hound into a fire when he was young, and they're relationship didn't exactly get more harmonious.
With The Mountain, who is quite possibly just a reanimated corpse, now serving as Cersei's personal body guard, and The Hound recovering from his journey beyond the wall, we're thinking that their paths may finally cross in either Sunday's finale or next season. If they do, a fight is sure to ensue, and if it does, there's now way they're both walking out alive.
While we may want The Hound to win, the odds may be The Mountain's favor and the actor who plays him agrees. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Icelandic strongman Hafþór Júlíus “Thor” Björnsson weighed in on the matchup. "That’s definitely something I would like to see," he said. "And for most of the fans, it’s something they’re all waiting for. It looks like it’s going to go that way, but who knows?"
If it does come to fruition Björnsson, who stands 6-feet-9 and weighs nearly 400 pounds, thinks that the conflict may go down like the fight between him and Oberyn Martel in season four. "I haven’t seen it yet in my head how I would kill him, but somehow I would smash his head or kill him like that. I think the fight would be quick rather than something long," he told EW. I think people would be expecting a big fight but I would finish him really fast. It would be a surprise to people." Adding if they fought that he'd "100 percent" beat The Hound.
The finale of Game of Thrones airs on Sunday at 9pm on HBO.
